This stone contains fossils of the rare armored fish Rhinopteraspis dunensis.

The fossil comes from the lower Devon layers (Upper Siegenium/Pragium) of Odenspiel in Germany.
The age of this piece is about 410 million years.

The stone measures about 18 x 13 x 7 cm. It contains a complete body armor and other parts of this extinct animal.
The preparation was carried out extremely conscientiously and carefully and so the typical surface structures of the fossils are beautifully recognizable.

Remains of these rare fish are among the top rarities and are highly sought after by collectors and museums,
unfortunately, the site is no longer accessible.
