Products description

Who layed the largest eggs of the world? Under the today's animals it is the ostrich. Under the fossil animals it probably may have been a dinosaur - one would assume. But that is not correct!
The largest known eggs come from the extinct elephant birds or Madagascar. These birds (the largest kind Aepyornis maximus reached an height about 3.50 meters and a weight of 500 kg) lived since the end of the Tertiary period about 2 million years ago in Madagascar and were the largest land animals on this island. They were exterminated by the natives before the appearance of the Europeans.

This egg is made of original shells of these birds. It has a height of approximately 32 cm. The extent amount is considerable 83 cm.
