Lithography stone from Solnhofen

This lithography stone was previously used for printing. It was found in the famous limestone quarries of Solnhofen in Germany.

This printing technique was used especially in the 19th century. Stones from Solnhofen were ideally suited for this.

The piece shows differend highly detailed Christian illustrations.

The stone is unbroken, the lines are part of the natural sediment. The dimensions are approximately 20 x 16 x 2 cm.
