Ammonites, Schlaifhausen

These stones with ammonites Dactylioceras athleticum come from the lower Jura (Lias, under Toarcium) of Schlaifhausen
near Forchheim. The age of these fossils is also about 189 million years.

This site has long been considered a classic site for these ammonites. Unfortunately, it is now completely exploited,
new finds are no longer possible and so these pieces come from an old collection.
