This beautiful specimen with ammonites Dactylioceras athleticum comes from the lower jurassic (Lias, under Toarcium) from Schlaifhausen near Forchheim. The age of this fossil is also around 189 million years. This site has long been considered a classic site for these ammonites. Unfortunately it is now completely exploited, new finds are no longer possible and so this piece also comes from an old collection. The stone is solid and stable, it measures about 30 x 30 x 8 cm. It is original and unbroken and weighs about 6 kilograms. Such large slabs are rarely available today. Great exhibit without any manipulations.
