This impressive Crinoid (sea lily) of the genus Pentacrinus briareus was found in the lower jurasic layers (Lias epsilon II, 3) of Dotternhausen in Germany.
The fossilis about 185 million years old. It is huge, it measures about 70 cm in length, the width of the crown is about 31 cm.
The fossil is still embedded in its original matrix - it has not been replaced. The slab was broken and have been glued, it measures about 79 x 36 cm.
No manipulations - all is original.
