Grasshopper Saltatoria wih interesting ovipositor

This grasshopper Saltatoria spec. was found in the lower cretaceous sediments (Crato Formation - Santana Formation) of Nova Olinda, Araripe, Brasil. The age of this fossil is about 125 mio. years.

Intersting is the clearly visible and well preserved ovipositor (sting to lay the eggs).

The insect measures about 5,5 cm. The matrix is unbroken and original, it measures about 15 x 14 cm.
