Products description

This offer is something very extraordinary. It is a fossilized insect cocoon which was found on a dinosaur skeleton. Cretaceous flies layed their eggs on the mortal remains of a Triceratops, the hatched maggots fossilized along with the dinosaur before they were rediscovered after 65 million years during excavations.

The fossil was found in the late-Cretaceous sediments (Hell Creek Formation) of Carter County, Montana, USA.

The cocoon is complete preserved, it is unbroken and measures about 1.5 cm.

All is original - no manipulations at all. The plastic box is included.
