Products description

Here we offer one of the oldest bony fishes ever known and the ancestor of all thousands bony fishes from nowadays.

It is a Leptolepis coyphaenoides found in the lower jurassic layers (Lias epsilon II,4 unterer Schiefer) of Dotternhausen, Germany (Holzmaden fauna).

The fish measures about 8 cm (streched out it´s a little longer). The animal is in the middle of an unbroken original slab which measures about 19 x 17 cm.
