Products description
These ribs from the marine reptile Ichthyosaurus come from the lower Jurassic (Lias epsilon) of Holzmaden. The age of these fossils is about 180 million years.
The stone is unbroken and measures about 19 x 12 x 3 cm. The bones are excellently prepared. Some are still covered with sediment, one could uncover more.
The ribs are very thick, they have a considerable diameter of 2.5 cm. So this ichthyosaur was a real giant!
