Mammoth Epiphysis

This epiphysis (forearm radius distal) from the Woolly Mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) comes from the pleistocene payers of
a gravelpit in Waldsee near Mannheim in Germany 

The bone comes from a juvenile (young) animal, but nevertheless it measures a remarkable 16 x 12 x 12 cm.

It is massive, heavy and highly mineralized.

Unbroken - no manipulations.
